Privacy Policy
The short version
- We collect what we need to run waste pickups: your name, phone or email, pickup addresses, waste photos and, while you use certain features, your location.
- We do not sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or advertising trackers in our apps.
- Collectors share their live location only while checked in to a shift and while the app is open.
- For identity documents, we keep only the last 4 characters of Aadhaar or PAN numbers, never the full number.
- You can access, correct or delete your data. See Your rights.

1. Who we are
BinBuddy is a waste-collection service operated by REQPEDIA TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED, 10B 10th Floor, Tower N Central, Park 2 Bellevue, Sector 48, Gurugram - 122101 Haryana ("BinBuddy", "we", "us"). We provide two apps:
- BinBuddy: for households and organisations ("residents") to schedule waste pickups, track collectors and earn Green Points.
- BinBuddy Connect: for waste collectors, collector applicants and field supervisors.
We process personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000 and its rules.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Residents and organisations (BinBuddy app)
- Account details: name, mobile number and/or email address, account type (individual or institution), preferred language, and a referral code if you sign up with one.
- Addresses: saved pickup addresses, including label, address text, landmark, PIN code, map coordinates and a contact phone number for the address. That number may belong to someone else, such as a caretaker. Please add it only with their permission.
- Pickup requests: waste categories, quantities, condition, notes, preferred dates, recurring schedules, special instructions, coupon codes, and up to 5 photos of the waste. We remove location metadata (EXIF) from photos before upload.
- Feedback and support: collector ratings and comments, app feedback, missed-pickup reports and support tickets.
- Household and branch members: if you invite someone to your account, we collect their mobile number, and other members can see each other's name and mobile number.
- Organisation onboarding: organisation name, employee-count range, GST registration number and a supporting document.
- Rewards and billing: Green Points balance and history, and billing records (amount, direction, status). We do not collect card, bank or UPI details in the app.
2.2 Collector applicants (BinBuddy Connect)
- Name, mobile number (verified by one-time password), optional email address, preferred work zone and language.
- Driving licence number and expiry date.
- Photos or scans of the identity and eligibility documents we ask for, such as driving licence, Aadhaar, PAN or a photograph. For Aadhaar and PAN, we store only the last 4 characters of the number.
2.3 Collectors and supervisors (BinBuddy Connect)
- Profile: name, mobile number, email address, employee ID, licence details, joining date, zone, assigned vehicle and supervisor.
- Work activity: shift check-in and check-out, attendance, day-off requests, pickups completed, waste quantities, pickup and extra-pickup photos, notes, stop exceptions, issue reports, feedback, ratings, performance summaries, referral codes and points.
- Location during shifts: see Device permissions.
- Supervisor actions: approvals, rejections, resolutions, reschedules and broadcast messages.
2.4 Collected automatically
- A push-notification token and device platform (Android or iOS), so we can send you notifications.
- Your device language, used to show the app in English or Hindi.
- Your notification preferences (push, SMS, WhatsApp, in-app).
We do not use analytics, advertising or crash-reporting SDKs. We do not collect your contacts, call logs, SMS messages or browsing history.
3. Device permissions
We ask for each permission only when you use the feature that needs it. You can withdraw any permission in your device settings at any time; only the related feature will stop working.
| Permission | App | Why we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Location (while using the app) | BinBuddy | To place your pickup address on the map, and to show the nearest collection vehicle on the home and tracking screens. This can happen before you sign in; in that case your coordinates are used only to find nearby vehicles and are not linked to an account. We never access your location in the background. |
| Location (while using the app) | BinBuddy Connect | While a collector is checked in to a shift and the app is open, we send their location to our servers about every 20 seconds. Their supervisor and the residents whose pickups are on the route can see it as live tracking. Tracking stops at check-out or when the app is in the background. We also take a one-time location fix when a collector logs an extra pickup. |
| Camera | Both | BinBuddy: to photograph waste for a pickup request. BinBuddy Connect: to scan pickup QR codes, photograph collected waste and capture registration documents. |
| Photos and files | Both | To attach existing photos or documents (images or PDF) that you choose. We access only the items you choose. |
| Microphone and speech recognition | BinBuddy Connect | Only when you tap the dictate button to speak an issue description. Speech is converted to text by your phone's speech service. Depending on your device, this may be processed on the device or by the device's provider, such as Google. We receive only the resulting text, never the audio. |
| Notifications | Both | To send pickup updates, shift reminders and account alerts. |
